Coloring Your Company Green: Communicating Sustainability

Roseann Casey, Acting Vice President, Environmental Affairs, Citi 

 

Roseann has over 20 years experience in both the private and non-profit sector. Much of her work has focused on international relief and development with postings in Russia, Bosnia and Indonesia. Her focus in recent years has been on the role of the private sector in global environmental and social issues, and the synergies that exist through public-private partnership. Roseann has contributed to the Harvard CSR Initiative and other projects through her research on the role of leadership in corporate responsibility, and on the efficacy of monitoring supply chain issues. She joined Citi in October 2007 where she is engaged in environmental affairs, sustainability and corporate citizenship.  Roseann holds a Master's Degree in Public Affairs from Harvard's Kennedy

Adam Richardson, Director of Product Strategy,

frog design, inc.

 

Adam is responsible for integrating frog’s product design and strategy practices to provide unified strategic approaches to clients’ product development challenges. He is one of the leads of frog design's initiative covering both sustainable design and social responsibility. He combines a background in industrial design and sociology, and has a broad range of experience in both consulting and corporate settings. Clients have included HP, Microsoft, Vodafone, Oral-B, DaimlerChrysler, and NASA. He writes about design and business for a variety of publications, runs

Jennifer V. Orgolini, Sustainability Director, Board of Directors, Compass, New Belgium

 

Jenn has been with New Belgium since October 1993 and is one of only two employees who have advanced from the packaging line to the boardroom.  She became New Belgium’s first COO in 2004, having spent the prior four years as NBB’s first CFO, during which time she launched New Belgium’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan and secured significant financing for growth. 

 

Since May, 2007, she’s been creating New Belgium’s first executive-level sustainability position, ensuring that New Belgium continues to be a green

business role model.  As the Steward of Sustainability, Jenn advises decision-makers, presents New Belgium’s sustainability accomplishments and philosophies outside the brewery in support of our advocacy goals, andworks on project teams at New Belgium and in our community to continue to raise the bar.

 

Jenn received a B.A. in Humanities from Washington College in Maryland.  She has an MBA in Finance from Regis University and completed the course work for a Masters in Applied Ethics from Colorado State University (thesis working title: The Use of Cost Benefit Analysis for Political Decision-Making in a Liberal Democracy).  She has a 6-year old daughter and a 4-year old developmentally disabled son.

He earned his BFA in Industrial Design from the California College of the Arts (CCA), and a multi-disciplinary MA from the University of Chicago. He has been an Adjunct Professor in the Industrial Design Program at CCA, and is a guest lecturer at the École Nationale Supérieure Création Industrielle in Paris.

Susan Ghertner, Environmental Affairs Manager, H-E-B

 

Susan Ghertner is the Manager of Environmental Affairs for H-E-B.  In that role she is responsible for assuring that H-E-B's United States and Mexico facilities and stores are in compliance with all environmental regulations, and oversees the HazMat  emergency response program. Susan designs and manages H-E-B’s environmental stewardship initiatives and leads the company’s environmental outreach efforts.   Prior to joining H-E-B she directed environmental programs for the State of Texas.  Susan has a B.S. degree from the University of Oklahoma and a M.A. degree from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas.  She serves on the boards of Keep Texas Beautiful and Mitchell Lake Audubon Center in San Antonio.

School of Government, a Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management from Regis University (Denver) and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and International Relations from Regis College. Roseann is based in New York, but is a native of Colorado where she began her career in marketing and the mountain resort industry.
